Frühe Gedichte -- Herbstgefühl -- Autumn Feeling

Here is the poem for Monday, October 7th.

    Autumn Feeling

Your leaves grow a fatter green
climbing up the trellis by my window.
Your berries swell together
and ripen quicker, shine fuller.
You pulse in the parting glance of the mother sun,
and through the darkened night
you smell of the golden sky.
You cool in the moon’s
breath and your dew,
oh such dew as tears that from these eyes flow,
such tears of love that none can still.
